Bake Cake Not War

Last year (2015), fifteen million viewers watched Nadiya Hussain win the ‘Great British Bake Off’ competition, making it the BBC’s most popular show that year. Problem was the BBC’s contract with ‘Love Productions’ (the company who made it) was up for grabs and after a ‘bidding war’ Love decided to sell the formatt to Channel 4, for £75 million (the BBC maxed out at £65 million).

It was at that point that the ingredients fell apart, as Mary, Sue and Mel said that they would ‘not be going with the dough’ and stayed loyal to the BBC. Paul who was innitially angry, but later simmered down, deserted to C4 and so the ‘Bake Off ‘backlash began, as former fans said that with out the other three, all C4 had actually bought for their money was a tent and that without them, the show would go stale. The moral of the story is: ‘Bake Cake, Not War’.
